There is some good news for Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 owners looking to enable Multitouch functionality. Bin4ry, senior XDA member and co-developer of Flashtool for Xperia family, released Dual Touch / Multitouch hack and according to him, it is working on every compatible custom Rom. Now we really don’t know what ROMs come compatible with this Multitouch hack, but you can follow these instructions to find out if yours is compatible:
Please note that this guide is only intended for Xperia X10 owners with root and should not be tried on other Xperia variants.
1. The first step is to download Flashtool Version 0.2.5 from here and install it on your PC. Refer to thread posted here if you need a complete FlashTool Guide for starters.
2. Once done, download Dualtouch.rar from here and save the file on your desktop.
3. Now download FTF-File for Flashtool and save it on desktop.
4. After this open Flashtool folder and copy Dualtouch.rar as well as ETF-File to Firmwares folder.
5. Once done, connect your Xperia X10 to the computer.
6. Now launch Flashtool.exe and click on Flash.
7. Wait for the process to finish which will take 2 to 3 minutes.
8. Once the process is complete, reboot your phone
And there you go! You now have multitouch enabled on your Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. According to the hack developer, this will not wipe any user data and will work as a ROM Addon. In case you are stuck or need further support and instructions, please consult the official XDA forum thread posted here. If you think these instructions are a bit advance, then it might be a good idea to wait for official update from Sony Ericsson that “promises” Multitouch.
Update 1: We came across this YouTube Video that shows MultiTouch presumably [Language Issue] acquired after applying this Dual Touch Hack.
